We have compiled a list of the most frequently ask questions below!
I just had my photographs taken...now what??
Within 2 weeks we'll schedule a session to view and order your images with our state-of-the-art projection system. The first time you see your images they'll be on the big screen! It makes it so easy to choose the best expression and poses. When you leave you'll have all the decisions made and you'll have one less thing to take care of. We'll be there to help you make the correct decisions. This is so much better than old-fashioned paper proofs with blemishes on them. No other studio in the area will take this kind of time to help you make the correct decisions.
How many outfit changes do I get?
Our sessions are time based, not outfit based. So if you book a 2 hour session, you get as many poses and outfits as we can fit into 2 hours! So the faster you change, the more variety you get. On average, most people get about 3-4 clothing changes per hour. So bring lots to pick from and we will help you narrow it down. Be sure to include your activities (sports, dance, music, etc.), some fun ones that show your style and some that will make mom and grandparents happy as well.
I'm not sure what to do or how to pose, will someone help me?
Yes! Paul knows what angles work best for different body shapes. The wrong pose can add 20 lbs. and the right pose can take off 20lbs. So we will coach you on the best ways to stand and position your body to look your best. Paul can even show you how to pose, although he looks funny when he poses like a girl!
Do I get my photos on a disk?
If you are looking for images for Facebook, Twitter, etc, then Yes! we offer those in addition to your prints. If you're looking to print your own, we do not offer that. With our portraits, you have high quality, archival prints that are made to last for many years. Most print your own options like home printers and 1 hour labs, yield prints that will last for a few years before shifting color. For something important like your senior portraits, you want prints that you will be proud to show your children one day.
Can I bring my pet, siblings or car?
Sure you can! Car's work best during a morning session. Make sure it's clean, unless it's a Jeep, they're happy when they are muddy. Pets are great to include. Bring small pets in a carrier, larger ones should be brought by someone who can take them home afterwards. Bring a leash and treats to get their attention. Sibling shots are a great way to make mom happy (we all like happy moms!). Make sure their outfit colors coordinate with your own.
What will my session be like?
In a word, FUN! Paul puts all the focus on YOU when you're being photographed. You'll be able to talk with Paul before you start about any special requests or concerns you may have. His easy-going manner and sense of humor helps put even the most camera-shy seniors at ease. His true professionalism shines as he gently guides you into the most natural poses, while at the same time making it hardly seem you're being photographed at all.
How long will it take to see my pictures?
You will leave your session with an appointment to see your pictures, usually in 5-10 days. Your finished portraits are usually ready in about 4 weeks (perfection takes time).
Do you sell photos for my Facebook page?
No, because we include some at no charge!.
I want to have my pictures done later in the year. Why should I call now?
Our schedule is already filling up FAST. Because we accept a limited number of appointments during the year, it's very important that you schedule yours right now. Every year we have to turn seniors away who waited too long. So don't be disappointed—call today!
I wear glasses...can you get rid of the reflection?
If you''ve had school pictures taken in the past with glasses and there has always been reflection in the lenses, then you might get reflections in our portraits too. If possible, remove the lenses from your frames or borrow a pair from your optometrist. This is the best solution. Or you can take your glasses off for your photographs. Please understand that I can only do so much with posing and lighting – you may still have reflections if you leave your lenses in.
Should I bring my parents with me?
Yes! I have found that bringing a parent along to the studio helps you feel more at ease. After all your parents have known you all your life, so I really value their input.
What if it rains on the day that I am scheduled for outdoor pictures?
Come in and have the indoor portion of your session taken. I will reschedule your outdoor pictures for you at that time.
What can I do to help make sure my pictures look good?
The most important thing to ensure good portraits is to spend time preparing for your sitting. Choose outfits that you like and that look good on you. Get input from your parents and your friends. GIRLS: even if you are not used to wearing makeup, wear it for pictures. Keep it natural. Mascara, lip gloss & foundation are a great basic look. If you have any questions or concerns about makeup or your complexion, see a dermatologist or visit the cosmetics counter at the local department store. GUYS: shave before your appointment. Don’t panic if you break out before your scheduled time. You can apply some makeup to your skin, or see us for help. I can retouch any of your finished pictures, so it may be best to leave your skin alone. GUYS & GIRLS: Make sure you are comfortable with your hair – if you get a new hairstyle and you don’t like it, you won’t like your portraits. You should get your hair cut 1 – 2 weeks prior to your appointment. Get plenty of rest the night before your appointment. Bring your clothes in on hangers, and make sure they are neat and not wrinkled up. Finally, come in with a good attitude. Don’t be a grump on picture day!
What’s my yearbook deadline?
Yearbook deadlines are defined by your school, and may change. You should make your appointment and submit your poses early to make sure you get in the yearbook.
